How it works

One reel.
Individual places.

Trovle turns a shared reel into separate places, each linked to the post it came from.

1. Share a link.

Share a reel to Trovle from your phone’s share menu, or paste its link into the app. We keep the link and the available information about the post.

2. Find the places inside.

We read the post and use AI to look for named places. A reel that mentions three cafés becomes three places. We use Google’s place information to match each one on the map.

We can miss a place or get one wrong. A private post, a missing caption, an unclear name or a place mentioned only in an Instagram video may not give us enough to go on.

3. Keep the source close.

Each place stays linked to the post it came from. We keep the link, post information and a small preview image. We do not download or re-host reel videos.

4. What we’re building next.

You’ll be able to organise places into collections, add them to your try list, choose a day and mark them tried. Planning will be optional.

When can I use it?

We’re testing on Android first, with iOS planned afterward. We haven’t set a release date.
